Ishq Aur Takht Episode 4 takes the story into a more intense phase as Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat begins looking beyond the obvious threats surrounding his throne. The previous episodes established the growing conflict around Kalonoros and Destina’s difficult position between her family and Alaeddin, but the fourth episode brings much of that tension back inside the palace. Destina’s carefully protected identity is becoming increasingly difficult to hide, while Alaeddin is no longer prepared to accept everything he is told without finding the truth himself.
Originally titled Aşk ve Taht, the series has gradually built its story around two sides of Alaeddin’s life. As Sultan, he has to identify traitors, protect the Seljuk state and establish his authority. On a personal level, however, his growing connection with Destina continues to complicate those responsibilities. Episode 4 brings these two sides closer together because the question of Destina’s identity is no longer merely personal; it could have political consequences as well.
Destina Accuses Melike of Betrayal
One of the major developments in Episode 4 comes when Destina brings Melike before Sultan Alaeddin and accuses her of betrayal. The allegation immediately attracts Alaeddin’s attention because he is already trying to understand who has been working against him. However, Alaeddin does not simply accept the accusation. He wants to know how Destina discovered that Melike had entered the secret passage and where her information came from.
Destina’s answer brings Celaleddin directly into the matter. She tells Alaeddin that Celaleddin provided the information, leaving the Sultan with another reason to question a man who is already surrounded by suspicion. Alaeddin consequently orders Celaleddin to be imprisoned.
This decision changes the atmosphere inside the palace because Celaleddin knows things that several people would prefer to remain hidden. His imprisonment pleases Ümmühan, but it creates serious concern for Nurcihan and Ayaba.
The development also puts Destina in an uncomfortable position. She has spent considerable effort preventing Alaeddin from discovering her true background, but every new investigation brings him closer to the people and events connected with her past. Celaleddin’s imprisonment therefore creates another possibility that information about Destina could eventually reach the Sultan.
Destina’s Secret Becomes Harder to Protect
Destina realizes that remaining silent may no longer be enough to protect herself. With Alaeddin questioning the people around him and Celaleddin now behind bars, she decides to take action before events move beyond her control. Her attempt leads her to a secret meeting, but the plan becomes dangerous when she is noticed during the encounter.
This development makes Destina’s position particularly interesting in Episode 4. Until now, she has managed to survive inside the palace by carefully controlling what Alaeddin knows about her. The problem is that each attempt to protect one secret seems to create another suspicious situation. Alaeddin already knows that there is more to Destina than she has admitted, and being connected with secret meetings only gives him further reason to investigate her.
At the same time, Destina’s actions cannot simply be viewed as deception for personal gain. Her family, Kalonoros and the people she cares about are connected to the decisions she makes. Revealing everything to Alaeddin could therefore affect far more than her own future. This is what makes her relationship with the Sultan complicated: she may care about Alaeddin, but complete honesty with him could come at a very high price.
Alaeddin Begins Searching for Destina’s Real Identity
As the episode progresses, Alaeddin’s suspicions about Destina become stronger. He begins considering the possibility that the woman he knows as Destina may actually be a princess. Rather than depending entirely on information provided by others, Alaeddin decides to investigate the matter himself and sets out on a journey that could finally reveal the truth about her identity.
For Alaeddin, discovering the truth is important for both personal and political reasons. Destina is already connected with memories from his past, and his feelings toward her have become increasingly difficult to separate from his responsibilities as Sultan. If she has deliberately concealed her identity and her relationship with Kalonoros, Alaeddin must understand why she did so and whether her presence poses any threat to his state.
This gives the fourth episode a different kind of tension from a conventional battle scene. Alaeddin is not fighting an enemy with his sword; he is trying to determine whether the woman he has begun to trust has been hiding something fundamental from him. The closer he gets to the answer, the more difficult the consequences of that discovery may become.
Melike and Destina’s Conflict Becomes Personal
The confrontation also pushes the rivalry between Melike and Destina into a more serious phase. Their relationship has already been affected by Alaeddin, but accusing Melike of betrayal takes the conflict beyond jealousy. Both women now have reasons to question the other’s intentions, while Alaeddin remains at the centre of a situation involving personal feelings as well as palace politics.
Melike has her own expectations and position around the Seljuk throne, while Destina has entered Alaeddin’s life unexpectedly and disturbed an already delicate balance. As Alaeddin becomes more interested in discovering Destina’s past, Melike has even more reason to see her as a threat. The tension between them therefore feels likely to remain important even after the immediate question of betrayal is resolved.
This is also where Ishq Aur Takht continues to justify its central theme. Alaeddin’s position means that love can never remain entirely separate from politics. The person he chooses to trust, protect or marry can influence alliances and rivalries around the throne. His feelings for Destina are consequently becoming part of the same political world that he is trying to control as Sultan.

Episode 4 shows a Sultan who is becoming increasingly determined to establish his authority. Alaeddin questions accusations rather than accepting them blindly, orders Celaleddin’s imprisonment when the evidence points toward him and begins investigating Destina himself when he realizes that the answers available inside the palace are incomplete. Official promotional material for the episode also emphasizes Alaeddin’s increasingly firm response to those who challenge his authority.
Yet the greatest challenge may not be identifying an ordinary enemy. Alaeddin has spent much of his life dealing with political opponents, captivity and betrayal, but Destina represents something more difficult because his judgment of her is connected with his own emotions. If he discovers that she has hidden her real identity, he will have to decide whether to treat that secrecy as betrayal or understand the reasons behind it.
What Episode 4 Means for the Story Ahead
By the end of Ishq Aur Takht Episode 4, several mysteries established in the opening episodes are beginning to come together. Celaleddin’s imprisonment threatens to expose information that others want hidden, the confrontation between Melike and Destina has become more serious, and Destina’s own actions are making it increasingly difficult for her to remain unnoticed. Most importantly, Alaeddin has stopped waiting for the truth to come to him and has begun actively searching for it.
The next stage of the story will therefore depend heavily on what Alaeddin discovers about Destina. If he confirms her real identity and understands her connection with Kalonoros, their relationship could change completely. Destina will then have to explain not only who she is, but why she kept the truth from him for so long.
